About the TB Profile
The TB profile combines a sputum AFB smear, TB Gold (QuantiFERON), ESR, CRP and a blood count. It supports the evaluation of suspected tuberculosis. India has a high burden of TB, and early diagnosis helps treatment succeed and stops spread.

Understanding your results
A positive sputum smear suggests infectious TB. TB Gold shows infection by the TB bacteria but cannot tell active from latent TB. ESR and CRP are non-specific. Diagnosis is made by a doctor using tests, chest X-ray and symptoms.
