About this service
Medical tests for insurance in Delhi NCR
Insurers often ask applicants for medical tests before issuing a life, term or health policy, especially for higher sum assured amounts, older ages or existing conditions. The results help the insurer assess risk and set the terms of cover. TPAs may also ask for tests during claims or pre-authorisation.
HumanCare Pathlabs does insurance-related medical testing for insurers and third-party administrators, run to a defined protocol with patient identification, sample handling and confidentiality controls. Our laboratory in Okhla is NABL accredited (certificate MC-10015, for tests in our accredited scope).
Tests commonly asked for
- Blood sugar fasting and post-meal, and HbA1c
- Lipid profile, liver function and kidney function tests
- Complete blood count, ESR and urine examination, with urine cotinine where asked
- HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C screening, as required by the insurer
- ECG and chest X-ray; for some policies a treadmill test, echo or tumour markers such as PSA
The insurer’s checklist decides the tests, which vary by age, sum assured and product. Share the requirement letter or proposal details and we confirm what can be done in house and what is arranged through partner centres.

Which medical tests are needed for life insurance or term insurance?
It depends on the insurer, your age and the sum assured. Common tests are blood sugar, lipid profile, liver and kidney function, urine, ECG and chest X-ray. Your insurer’s checklist decides.
Can the insurance medical be done at home?
Blood and urine samples and ECG can be done at home or office in Delhi and Noida. Chest X-ray and some other tests are done at the lab.
Do I have to fast?
Usually yes, 8 to 12 hours with water allowed, if sugar and lipid tests are included. We confirm at booking.
Who gets the report?
Reports are shared as per the insurer’s or TPA’s process and with you. Results are kept confidential.
Can you handle medicals for a TPA or group scheme?
Yes. Contact our corporate team with details of volumes and locations.
Do you offer on-site health checkups at our office?
Yes. For larger teams we can arrange on-site sample collection and selected tests at your location. Share headcount, address and the tests you need, and we will plan it with you.
Which tests are part of a pre-employment medical?
It depends on the job role and your company policy. A typical panel has blood and urine tests, chest X-ray, ECG, pulmonary function test and audiometry. We can add or remove tests to match your requirement.
Can candidates visit the lab with a referral letter?
Yes. Employers can send candidates with a referral letter, and candidates can book a lab visit. Selected tests can also be done at home.
How and when will we receive the reports?
Reports are shared digitally with the HR contact you nominate. Turnaround depends on the tests and is confirmed in your quotation.
Are employee results confidential?
Yes. We follow defined protocols for patient identification, sample handling and confidentiality. Results go to the employee and to the contact your company nominates.
Do you give a fitness decision?
We provide the test results. The final fitness decision stays with the employer and their medical officer.
Do you work with insurers, TPAs and overseas recruitment agencies?
Yes, we do medical testing for insurance and for people travelling abroad for work. Requirements differ by insurer and destination country, so please share the requirement letter or checklist with us before you send candidates.
